    Rights teams condemn sentence towards distinguished campaigner on problems with local weather change and environmental degradation.

    Vietnam has sentenced distinguished environmental activist Hoang Thi Minh Hong to 3 years in jail on tax fraud prices.

    The state-run Thanh Nien newspaper stated Hong, the founding father of CHANGE, a now-defunct environmental marketing campaign group, was convicted after a one-day trial in southern Ho Chi Minh Metropolis.

    She was discovered responsible of dodging almost $275,000 in taxes associated to CHANGE, her lawyer Nguyen Van Tu informed the AFP information company.
